SAFE BUYING ADVICE

When you have decided to purchase a safe, please consider the following information.

All safes are cash rated. A ‘cash rating’ is a method of classifying a safe by its security level. Manufacturers design their safes to meet various levels of security and these are designated by a cash rating from £1,000 up to £150,000. All cash ratings can be multiplied by 10 if valuables such as jewellery are being stored instead of cash e.g. a security safe with a £4,000 cash rating will cover jewellery up to £40,000.

But please remember that these levels are a guide only and could vary depending on the sitting of the safe and relevant security levels of the building in which the safe is being stored. It is therefore advisable to seek advice from your Insurance Company if you intend to insure the contents of your safe and are not sure what level of security you require.

CASH RATINGS
Grade Cash Rating Jewellery/Valuables
Euro grade 0 £6,000 £60,00
Euro grade 1 £10,000 £100,000
Euro grade 2 £17,500 £175,000
Euro grade 3 £35.000 £350,000
Euro Grade 4 £60,000 £600,000
Euro grade 5 £100.000 £1 Million
Euro grade 6 £150,000 £1.5 Million
